A work in progress, from a poplar tree which I planted with my father on the family land in the Loire Valley, France on a Sunday in 1992. The following day in school, I got two hours retention for not taking the time to re-write an essay over the weekend, plus a stern warning from my teacher that I would never make a living out of bits of wood!

Twenty years on, the poor tree died, I am now a wood carver and the poplar tree has been re-incarnated to a Buddah.

This American style stair with a little “french touch” is a double curved string free standing stair ,with walnut steps.

Each single step is curved to give to the stair a nice shape and smooth flow.

Like all our staircases ,no need to plaster or timber clad the underneath of the stair ,as the finish is just as nice as on the top.
